Community

Mobility amongst students, family and staff is part of being in an international school, but one of the critical factors in settling into a new community is the support received. Our Crossroads Transition Programme is new and growing.

We believe that moving to a new school and new culture influences a child's well being and learning capacity. As a school community we have a part to play in reducing the negative aspects of relocation and highlighting the positive aspects of being a "Global Nomad". Children who are emotionally secure will adapt to school life much faster and children can only feel balanced and secure if the key people in their lives feel settled and at ease too.

Therefore we believe that we should help both children, parents, and new members of staff in transition process and make sure they feel supported during the time they are part of our community up and including their transfer to a next school.

Our Sheltered Crossroads program is new and growing. We will need help from the school community to make it a program that will help our newest family members settle into the school and into the local area. When and if the time comes to move to another country, we want to also help with that transition.
