We are over the moon to announce that the school community raised £1890.52 from the Sponsored Obstacle Run and the World Food Day lunch that were held in September and October. This was a superb effort by everyone involved, we had a huge amount of fun during the obstacle run. There were cakes, water, high walls, mud and raucous laughter which epitomised the spirit of ISL Surrey. A special thank you has to go out to Ms Lisa and our Class Parents and PTA who organised the event so well.
Judy from Betterlives.org came to a special assembly to receive this great news, she was
overwhelmed by the generosity. Judy gave a presentation showing exactly where the money will
go and we were able to see photos of the school and children we are helping. The children in Year 1
will be writing to the children in Tanzania. It was their idea to send a letter in an aeroplane
with the money so that the children knew where the money had come from. They are also learning
numbers in Swahili.
