ISL Surrey turn recyclables into adventure playground

September 14,2017

The Early Years children at ISL Surrey were very excited to take part in the opening of their newly rejuvenated outside space on the first day of Autumn term. During the summer holidays the Early Years team worked hard to create a unique outdoor sensory experience for their younger students using recycled materials.

"The loose parts available for the children to engage with are also very popular and it has been wonderful to observe the resourcefulness, resilience, creativity and inventiveness of our youngest students,” says Sarah Partridge, Early Years Leader.

The garden includes a multi-texture path, pirate ship, camp fire, a wooden castle, a cosy reading nook and the ever favourite mud kitchen, amongst other features. The new revamped space offers a wide range of learning opportunities across all curriculum areas, while encouraging a love of the outdoors.
